The short version

The Ambulance Victoria Clinical Placement Medical is a mandatory pre-placement health and physical assessment that university paramedicine students must complete before starting clinical placement with Ambulance Victoria. KINNECT delivers the assessment at our clinics nationally — bookings are managed through the Carelever portal, the appointment takes up to three hours, and results are reviewed by a KINNECT Occupational Health Doctor against Ambulance Victoria’s medical and immunisation requirements.

What it is

The mandatory medical before clinical placement.

The Ambulance Victoria Clinical Placement Medical and Physical Assessment is a pre-placement health screening for university paramedicine students. It confirms that you can safely meet the physical and clinical demands of a paramedic placement before you commence work on road with Ambulance Victoria.

KINNECT is a proud provider of this assessment and works with university partners across the country to make booking and completing the medical as simple as possible.

Who it’s for

Built around the placement journey.

If your university has confirmed an Ambulance Victoria clinical placement, this is the assessment you complete to get clinic-ready.

  • University paramedicine students

Undergraduate and postgraduate paramedicine students preparing for their first or recurring Ambulance Victoria clinical placement.

  • Booked by your university

Your education provider typically refers you to KINNECT via Carelever once your placement is confirmed.

  • Recurring placements

If your assessment has expired since your last placement, you will need to complete a fresh medical before the next rotation.

How it works

From referral to results — in five steps.

The whole process is coordinated through the Carelever portal, with confirmation by SMS and email and a single in-clinic appointment.

FAQ

Common questions from students.

Quick answers on bookings, appointment length, rescheduling and where to attend.

How long does the appointment take?

Please allow up to three hours from the time of your confirmed appointment. This covers the medical assessment, the physical assessment and any onsite paperwork.

How do I book?

Your university or placement coordinator creates a Carelever referral on your behalf. You will receive an SMS and email link to complete payment and select your clinic and appointment time.

What if I cannot make my appointment?

Reschedule directly through Carelever as early as possible. Late cancellations or no-shows can delay your placement start date, so leave plenty of lead time before placement begins.

Where are KINNECT clinics located?

KINNECT delivers the Ambulance Victoria Clinical Placement Medical from clinics around the country — including outside Victoria — so you can complete your assessment close to where you live or study.

Who reviews my results?

Every assessment is reviewed by an in-house KINNECT Occupational Health Doctor against Ambulance Victoria’s current medical and immunisation requirements — never a generic GP unfamiliar with the standard.
