The short version
The WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Periodic Medical is the annual occupational health assessment offered to firefighters and other DFES personnel potentially exposed to combustion products, diesel exhaust, building hazards (including asbestos), heat stress, shift work and UV/other radiation. KINNECT is a preferred Medical Provider for DFES — bookings can be made at any KINNECT clinic in Western Australia through a short online request, and any non-DFES health concerns identified during the assessment are sent back to the worker as a Duty of Care Letter to take to their GP.

Results & Duty of Care follow-up
Your DFES report is returned through the agreed channel. Anything unrelated to your DFES role is flagged in a Duty of Care Letter for you to take to your GP.
