The short version
Periodic Health Monitoring (also called Health Surveillance) is a structured program of ongoing medical checks for workers exposed to noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, biological agents or other workplace hazards. KINNECT designs the program with an Occupational Physician and Occupational Hygienist, runs the periodic assessments through our owned clinics and 300+ affiliate clinics across Australia, and tracks every worker, hazard and due date through our Carelever Monitor platform — so you stay compliant with WHS health monitoring obligations without managing it on a spreadsheet.
Ongoing health checks that catch small changes before they become harm.
Health Surveillance is a structured program of periodic medical checks for workers exposed to workplace hazards — noise and vibration, ionising radiation, solvents, fumes, dusts, biological agents, lead, isocyanates, silica, asbestos and other substances hazardous to health. By systematically tracking the right markers at the right intervals, we spot early changes and intervene long before a worker is harmed.
Required by law
Many exposures (noise, lead, asbestos, silica, isocyanates and more) trigger statutory health monitoring obligations under Australian WHS regulations. We make sure your program meets them.
Or simply best practice
Even where the law doesn’t require it, surveillance is sound practice for exposures like UV, fatigue, vibration and emerging hazards. We help you decide what’s warranted.
Designed around your hazards
Every program is built around your actual hazard register, roles and rosters — not a generic checklist. Tests, frequencies and reporting all map to risk.
A four-step build, signed off by an Occupational Physician.
Setting up a defensible health monitoring program is complex — you’re mapping hazards to people to tests to frequencies, and you have to keep doing it. We take that off your plate.
- 01
Engage an Occupational Hygienist
We refer to GCG, our preferred Occupational Hygienist partner, to walk your sites and document every potential exposure your workers face. The output is a comprehensive Health Risk Assessment that ranks each exposure as low, medium or high.
- 02
Engage an Occupational Physician
Our Occupational and Environmental Physician reviews the Health Risk Assessment and prescribes the medical content of your program — what tests, what intervals, what thresholds — so it meets legislative requirements and reflects best practice for your industry.
- 03
Group workers into Similar Exposure Groups
KINNECT then maps employees into Similar Exposure Groups (SEGs): workers facing comparable hazards in their day-to-day work. The SEG a worker sits in determines what they’re tested for, and how often.
- 04
Roll out, run and renew
We handle scheduling, appointments, results, physician review and reporting through Carelever Monitor — and integrate the program with your pre-employment medicals so workers are looked after across the whole employment lifecycle.
One platform. Every hazard. Every worker. Every due date.
Once your program is live, our purpose-built Carelever Monitor platform automates the scheduling, reminders, results and reporting — so you can see exactly who is up to date and who is overdue at a glance, and prove compliance whenever you need to.
No more spreadsheets. No more guessing which worker is due for which test.
- 01
Workers enrolled in Carelever
Every worker is added to Carelever Monitor with their SEG, exposures, tests and due dates pre-set. Records are stored securely in one place.
- 02
Automated reminders go out
Carelever notifies you when workers are due. Workers get an SMS from KINNECT to confirm location and book an appointment — no chasing required.
- 03
Assessment in-clinic or onsite
Workers attend a KINNECT clinic or one of our 300+ affiliate clinics, or we come to your site. Tests are determined by their SEG and can include consultation, physical exam, clinical tests and imaging.
- 04
Physician review & reporting
A KINNECT Occupational Health Doctor reviews every result. You’re notified of any concern or recommendation — and the result is filed back into Carelever for the next cycle.
Built for any workforce with a documented hazard exposure.
If your workers are exposed to noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, biological agents, lead, isocyanates, silica, asbestos, ionising radiation or work in compressed air, you almost certainly have a statutory or best-practice surveillance obligation. We design and run the program end-to-end.

In-clinic across Australia, or onsite at your workplace.
Surveillance programs only work if workers actually attend. We make attendance easy by giving you both options — and switching between them as your roster, location or production schedule demands.
In-clinic
KINNECT-owned clinics across QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, SA and NT, plus 300+ affiliate clinics for remote and regional locations. Best for distributed workforces, FIFO crews and individuals due for their periodic check.
Onsite at your workplace
Fully mobile teams that come to your site — ideal for whole-crew testing, shutdowns and annual campaigns. We move quickly through a roster with minimal disruption to production.
