Quick answer

The short version

KINNECT delivers onsite urine, oral fluid (saliva) and breath alcohol testing at your workplace — pre-employment, random, post-incident or for-cause. Our NATA-accredited program is performed by certified Drug and Alcohol Screeners to AS/NZS 4308 (urine), AS/NZS 4760 (oral fluid) and AS 3547 (breath alcohol), with confirmed positives sent to a partner laboratory for GCMS verification. A minimum of 10 tests per site visit applies, with approximately 10 minutes required per worker.

Who it’s for

Built for every reason you need to test.

Whether you’re running a structured random program or responding to an incident at 3am, our onsite team can mobilise to the right place, at the right time, with the right documentation.

  • Pre-employment screening

Confirm fitness-for-work before a new hire starts on site — paired with a pre-employment medical or stand-alone.

  • Random program testing

Scheduled or unannounced random testing rounds aligned to your workplace drug and alcohol policy.

  • Post-incident & for-cause

On-call testing following a workplace incident, near-miss or where reasonable cause to suspect impairment exists.

  • Return-to-work testing

Verification testing as part of a managed return to work after a positive result, treatment program or stand-down.

How it works

Non-disruptive, discrete workplace testing.

A clear, repeatable process — designed to slot into your operation without grinding it to a halt.

  1. 1

    Scope your program

We confirm the type of testing (urine, saliva, breath alcohol), the number of workers, site access, timing and your policy requirements.

  2. 2

    Mobilise to your site

A certified KINNECT Drug and Alcohol Screener travels to your workplace with all required devices, consumables and chain-of-custody paperwork.

  3. 3

    Set up & brief

We set up a discrete testing area onsite, brief your supervisor, and confirm the worker list and ID requirements.

  4. 4

    Test the workforce

Workers cycle through testing in approximately 10 minutes each. Negative results are recorded immediately; non-negatives trigger an escalation pathway.

  5. 5

    Confirm & report

Non-negative drug samples are couriered to a NATA-accredited laboratory for GCMS confirmation. Positive breath alcohol results follow the AS 3547 retest-and-evidential pathway.

Urine vs saliva

Pick the test that matches your intent.

What matters most for your workplace — confirming someone is fit for work right now, or identifying at-risk patterns of use over time? The right test depends on the answer.

Urine drug screening

  • Detection window of several days for most drug classes
  • Best for identifying recent and historic use patterns
  • Suited to programs focused on at-risk behaviour identification
  • Aligned to AS/NZS 4308

Oral fluid (saliva) screening

  • Detection window of hours to ~24 hours after use
  • Best for assessing current fitness-for-work
  • Less invasive collection — observed mouth swab
  • Aligned to AS/NZS 4760
