Onsite Physiotherapy Services

Tailored onsite physiotherapy solutions to effectively reduce the cost of injuries in the workplace — delivered by KINNECT’s occupational physiotherapists, inside the work environments your people actually operate in.

Quick answer

The short version

KINNECT onsite physiotherapy places an occupational physiotherapist inside your workplace to treat work-related and non-work-related musculoskeletal issues early — before they become claims or lost-time injuries. Programs are scoped as half-day, full-day or hourly clinics (minimum two hours) and include equipment, an online booking tool, injury reporting and structured feedback to your team, GPs and treating specialists. They suit single-site workforces in industries such as manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, healthcare, logistics and government, and are typically paired with ergonomic, stretching and manual handling programs.

What it is

A treating physio inside your workplace — not down the road.

As one of Australia’s largest workplace rehabilitation providers, KINNECT’s onsite physiotherapists have the specialist knowledge to keep your workforce safe and healthy. They partner with you to identify potential sources of injury, perform onsite assessments and treatment, and manage cases end-to-end.

The result: fewer lost-time incidents, lower claim frequency and avoidable costs associated with absence and rising workers’ compensation premiums.

Why onsite physio works

A smart investment in a healthier workforce.

For organisations with a large workforce in one location, onsite physiotherapy improves productivity and delivers better recovery outcomes — because the treating clinician understands the work, the culture and your injury-management processes.

  • Early intervention

Catch minor discomforts before they become major injuries, LTIs and unnecessary doctor or emergency department visits — which often turn into avoidable compensation claims.

  • Non-work injuries treated onsite

Manage non-work-related injuries before they get aggravated at work. You get clear records, fewer disputed claims and a healthier, safer workforce.

  • Structured recover-at-work

Onsite physios deliver role-specific recover-at-work plans, reducing the risk of workers being off work for longer than they need to be.

  • Trend spotting

Identify injury trends early — a cluster of shoulder injuries in a single role, for example — and recommend the modifications that reduce frequency at the source.

  • Ergonomic expertise on the floor

Physios observe and analyse tasks with high musculoskeletal risk, then advise on body mechanics, workstation setup and task design — where the work happens.

  • Evidence-backed ROI

A documented poultry-processing program delivered an 18% reduction in workers’ comp claims, 37% fewer days absent and $831 lower average cost per claim (Donovan et al., 2017).

“There is strong evidence that recovery at work and early return to good work can help recovery and prevent secondary complications associated with time away from work.”— NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority

Communication during treatment

A feedback continuum, not a black box.

For onsite physio to be effective, the feedback loop with your organisation, GPs and treating specialists has to stay open. KINNECT clinicians work to these standing KPIs:

  • KPI 01

    Within 24 hours

Initial update emailed to your workplace representative, GP and/or treating Specialist after the worker’s first physiotherapy consultation.

  • KPI 02

    After every session

Progress updates covering response to treatment, functional progress and capacity to return to work — sent after each subsequent consult.

  • KPI 03

    On discharge

Discharge update to all parties within 24 hours of treatment ending — so formal return-to-work plans can be established, modified and progressed.

Beyond physio treatment

What else your onsite physio can deliver.

During quieter treatment windows, KINNECT’s onsite physios deliver targeted injury prevention and management services — making every day onsite count.

Frequently asked

Onsite physiotherapy FAQ.

The questions employers ask most often before standing up an onsite physio clinic.

What facilities are required for an onsite physiotherapy clinic?

For onsite physiotherapy to be effective and durable, we recommend a permanent treatment room fitted out to private-practice standard. KINNECT funds the room set-up and ongoing consumables — all that’s required from your business is a dedicated room or space.

How does an onsite physiotherapist logistically work?

Workers book online, onsite or via KINNECT’s dedicated phone line. To maximise attendance, every worker receives an SMS reminder 24 hours before their appointment with the option to reschedule.

What other services can the onsite physiotherapist perform?

During periods of lower treatment demand, our physios deliver worksite assessments, manual task risk assessments, SmartStretch pre-start programs, manual handling training, ergonomic assessments, health & wellbeing sessions, job dictionaries and physical conditioning — group or 1:1.

What ROI does onsite physiotherapy offer?

A documented onsite program in poultry meat processing reduced workers’ compensation claims by 18%, days absent by 37% and average cost per claim by $831 (Donovan et al., 2017). A separate hospital-based program reduced compensation and healthcare costs and delivered quicker return-to-work outcomes (Badii et al., 2006).

Can KINNECT deliver onsite physiotherapy nationally?

Yes. KINNECT operates clinics around Australia and our occupational physios travel to client sites — including remote and regional operations — to deliver programs in the environments your people actually work in.
