Workplace Rehabilitation

A considered path to work with a new employer.

When returning to the original employer is no longer realistic, KINNECT helps make the next step practical, safe and genuinely connected to the worker’s certified capacity.

Quick answer

The short version

KINNECT Job Placement Services support an injured worker who cannot return to their original employer to pursue suitable work with a new employer. We identify realistic roles, engage employers, match opportunities against certified capacity and restrictions, support applications and placement, coordinate with stakeholders and follow up early after commencement. A suitable role may be identified, but KINNECT does not promise a job or guaranteed placement.

What it is

A supported transition, not a hand-off.

Some workers cannot return to their original employer, even when they are ready and motivated to work. Job Placement Services gives that transition structure.

KINNECT combines vocational thinking with practical employer engagement so opportunities are considered carefully, discussed openly and aligned with the worker’s current capacity.

What the service can include

  • Suitable-role identification
  • Employer engagement and introductions
  • Matching against certified capacity and restrictions
  • Application and placement support
  • Workplace and stakeholder coordination
  • Early follow-up after commencement
When it helps

For a new chapter that still needs a plan.

A useful option when the worker’s original employment relationship cannot support a durable return, but their skills and capacity point toward work elsewhere.

For injured workers

A calm, practical partner through unfamiliar conversations and a meaningful change in direction.

For insurers

A transparent process that connects vocational evidence with the realities of employers and roles.

For employers

A supported introduction when considering a worker whose capabilities and restrictions need to be understood clearly.

How it works

Careful steps, clearly coordinated.

The work is tailored to the person and the local labour market. There is no automatic placement and no one-size-fits-all pathway.

  1. 01

Understand the worker and the brief

We listen to the worker, review certified capacity and restrictions, and clarify the employment outcome being pursued.

  2. 02

    Identify suitable roles

We use vocational information, transferable skills, location and real role demands to build a focused list of realistic opportunities.

  3. 03

    Engage potential employers

With the right consent, we approach employers, explain the worker’s capabilities and explore whether a suitable role may be available.

  4. 04

    Match and support applications

Opportunities are checked against capacity and restrictions. We can support applications, introductions and conversations about adjustments.

  5. 05

    Coordinate the transition

We keep the worker, employer, insurer and treating team aligned around commencement, duties and practical workplace arrangements.

  6. 06

    Follow up early

After commencement, we check in early to surface barriers, support communication and help the transition settle safely.

Choose the right support

Placement is not preparation. And it is not host employment.

Job Placement Services

Employer engagement and support toward a new, potentially ongoing role.

Job Preparation Assistance

Skills, confidence, resumes, interviews and job-search readiness. It may complement placement support.

Host Employment

A temporary rehabilitation placement with a host employer to build capacity when suitable duties are unavailable.

Frequently asked

Honest answers before you refer.

Does KINNECT guarantee a job or placement?+

No. We provide structured, practical support to identify and pursue suitable opportunities, but the final outcome depends on the worker, employers, labour market and approvals. We do not promise a job or guaranteed placement.

How is this different from Job Preparation Assistance?+

Job Preparation Assistance focuses on job-readiness skills such as resumes, interviews and job-search confidence. Job Placement Services adds employer engagement, role matching, applications, placement coordination and early follow-up with a new employer.

Is this Host Employment?+

No. Host Employment is a temporary rehabilitation placement with a host employer, usually to build capacity when the original workplace cannot offer suitable duties. Job Placement Services supports pursuit of ongoing employment with a new employer.

How are roles matched?+

We consider the worker’s certified capacity, restrictions, skills, experience, interests, location and the genuine demands of available roles before discussing an opportunity.

Who can refer?+

Insurers, employers, case managers and treating professionals can refer. We can also explain the process to a worker before a referral is made.
