The QAS Clinical Placement, Graduate & Qualified Paramedic Medical is the pre-placement medical assessment KINNECT delivers on behalf of Queensland Ambulance Service. Paramedicine students starting a QAS clinical placement, Graduate Paramedics joining QAS and Qualified Paramedics returning to operational duty must complete this medical with KINNECT before commencing their role. The assessment is conducted by a KINNECT clinician, reviewed by a KINNECT Doctor against QAS Medical Standards, and booked through our Carelever portal. Clinical Placement Medicals are valid for the duration of a student's studies; Graduate and Qualified Paramedic Medicals are valid for two years.

Once your payment is received, KINNECT creates your referral and links your assessment to the QAS pathway you need (student, graduate or qualified).
You'll receive an SMS and email from Carelever with a link to self-book your appointment or provide your availability.
Arrive on time and allow up to three hours to complete your medical and physical assessment with a KINNECT clinician. Wear closed-in shoes — trainers are ideal.
Your results are reviewed by a KINNECT Doctor against the QAS Medical Standards and a fitness determination is reached for the role you are stepping into.
If a condition is identified that needs further investigation, KINNECT will contact you and provide a referral letter for your treating doctor — your assessment is finalised once that information is returned.
The final fitness outcome is communicated through the QAS pathway, ready for you to commence your placement or role.

That means a consistent, defensible determination of fitness for the operational role you’re stepping into — clinical placement, graduate paramedic or qualified paramedic.
If a medical condition is identified during the assessment that requires further investigation or information from your treating doctor, KINNECT will contact you and provide a referral letter to take to your treating doctor.
Your assessment is finalised by the KINNECT Doctor once the requested information is returned — keeping the QAS pathway moving without unnecessary delays.
