The short version
KINNECT is the approved provider for the Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) Respiratory Protection Program. Anyone working in dust or fume areas at BSL must complete a respirator fit test before attending site and at least every two years. We deliver BSL-compliant testing in our Gladstone clinic, or onsite for groups of up to 32, using the approved BSL mask samples — 3M FF400, 3M 6000 series and Sundstrom SR200 for full-face. Results are issued the same day for presentation to BSL.
BSL requires a fit test before you can work in dust or fume areas.
Boyne Smelters Limited requires every employee and contractor working in dust and/or fume areas to wear a respirator. Different faces seal differently against different masks — a fit test confirms which approved BSL respirator gives that specific worker the highest level of protection, and is the gateway to site access.
Site access compliance
A current BSL-compliant fit test is part of the access requirement. Workers get a printed result the same day to present on site.
Real protection, the right mask
We test against the BSL-approved mask samples so the result reflects the actual respirator the worker will wear in the smelter.
Two-year re-test cycle
BSL requires every employee and contractor to repeat their fit test at minimum every two years — we track and book recurring sessions.
We test against the masks BSL has approved for site.
BSL has supplied KINNECT with sample respirators so the fit test you complete in ourGladstone clinic matches the equipment you'll actually use onsite.
Important: moving forward, BSL no longer accepts half-face respirator fit tests for contractors — contractors must wear a full-face respirator.

Other mask types we fit-test
- Half Face
- P2 / N95 (where still permitted)
Tell us your mask type — Full Face, Half Face or P2/N95 — when you book so we can prepare the right sample.
From booking to a site-ready result.
We keep the appointment tight so individuals can drop in around a shift, and groups can move through quickly without disrupting the roster.
