Workplace stretching and warm-up programs that actually stick.

SmartStretch is KINNECT's onsite, job-specific pre-start stretching program — designed by allied health professionals to reduce your workforce's risk of soft tissue injury and keep your people moving safely, shift after shift.

Quick answer

The short version

KINNECT's SmartStretch is an onsite, job-specific pre-start warm-up and stretching program that reduces the risk of soft tissue injuries — strains, sprains and muscle fatigue. Delivered in small groups by allied health professionals, it pairs tailored exercises with workplace Stretch Champion training and printed and video resources so the routine sticks long after we leave site. Suitable for construction, manual handling, warehousing, manufacturing and office workforces.

Why SmartStretch

Stop soft tissue injuries before the shift starts.

Strains, sprains and tendonitis are some of the most common — and most preventable — workplace injuries. They often trace back to poor posture, repetitive movement and starting physical work without a proper warm-up. SmartStretch addresses all three at the source.

Workers participating in an onsite pre-start SmartStretch warm-up session
  • Reduced soft tissue injuries

Job-specific stretching reduces the likelihood of strains, sprains, tendonitis and muscle fatigue — the most common workplace injuries.

  • Better flexibility & strength

Regular pre-start movement promotes muscle flexibility, joint range and physical readiness for the actual demands of the job.

  • Safer, more engaged crews

Workers start the shift physically ready and bought into a visible safety routine — fewer downtime incidents, fewer claims.

How SmartStretch works

Practical. Job-specific. Built to last.

SmartStretch is designed for any workforce to adopt — and to keep running on its own.

  1. 01

    Tailored to the work

Our allied health team walks your site and tasks first, then designs stretches and movement exercises specific to the lifting, bending, reaching and postures your crews actually do.

  2. 02

    Delivered onsite, in small groups

Sessions are run in groups of 10–20 workers in your work areas, with a short theory component and a hands-on practical so the routine is genuinely learned, not just demonstrated.

  3. 03

    Stretch Champions take it forward

We identify and upskill internal Stretch Champions (also called Stretch Leaders) with extra 1:1 training so they can confidently lead the daily pre-start routine long after KINNECT leaves site.

  4. 04

    Reinforced with awareness materials

Posters, booklets and short instructional videos keep the program visible and easy to follow — supporting culture change and consistent technique across shifts.

Who it's for

Built for the work your people actually do.

SmartStretch is most effective for industries with repetitive physical tasks, manual handling and prolonged postures — but the principles apply just as well to office and hybrid teams.

  • Construction & trades

Heavy lifting, repetitive movements and awkward postures create high soft tissue injury risk.

  • Warehousing & logistics

Manual handling, lifting and moving heavy objects place workers at significant strain risk.

  • Manufacturing

Repetitive tasks and long periods of standing or sitting drive muscle strain over time.

  • Office & hybrid teams

Desk-based work benefits too — short routines ease discomfort from prolonged sitting and poor ergonomics.

Training workshops

Two practical workshops your team can run with.

  • Warm Up & Stretching Training WorkshopGroup-based onsite training in the tailored routine — short theory followed by a hands-on practical with every participant.
  • Stretch Leader Training WorkshopA 1-hour 1:1 session that upskills your Stretch Champions to safely demonstrate and lead the routine, correct technique and keep the program running every shift.
Supporting resources

Behaviour change needs ongoing reinforcement. KINNECT supplies a suite of branded materials your Stretch Champions and supervisors can put to work straight away:

Frequently asked

Common questions about SmartStretch.

What is a workplace stretching and warm-up program?

It is a structured routine of low-impact static and dynamic stretches and exercises that workers complete — usually at the start of a shift — to prepare the body for physical work. KINNECT designs the routine around the actual tasks and movements in your roles to help reduce sprains, strains and soft-tissue injuries.

Is there a risk of injury during the program?

KINNECT's stretching programs use static and dynamic stretches and exercises that are low impact and low force, chosen specifically to keep risk low. Every exercise is demonstrated at the time of training, and any participant using incorrect technique is coached on the correct form to eliminate associated risk.

How long does each stretch session take?

Daily routines are designed to be short — typically around 5 to 10 minutes — so they fit into a pre-shift toolbox or start-up routine without disrupting production. The exact length is tailored to your tasks and workforce.

How is the program kept going after KINNECT leaves site?

We identify and train internal Stretch Champions (Stretch Leaders) in a separate 1-hour 1:1 session covering the stretches, exercises and the safe demonstration of each. Combined with our posters, booklets and videos, this means the routine continues to be led, reinforced and corrected by your own people.

What resources does KINNECT supply to support the program?

A full suite of awareness materials — including stretching posters, stretching booklets and stretching videos — to reinforce the daily routine, support Stretch Champions and reinforce technique across shifts.

Can the program be delivered for any size workforce?

Yes — onsite sessions are typically run in groups of 10 to 20 employees and we can scale across shifts, sites and states. For multi-site or national rollouts we coordinate scheduling and Stretch Champion training so the program lands consistently across your business.

Which industries is the program suited to?

It suits any workforce with physically demanding or repetitive tasks — including manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, construction, mining and resources, agriculture, and healthcare and aged care. The routine is tailored to the specific physical demands of your roles.
