Body Safe Practical Manual Handling Training.
Body Safe manual handling training ditches boring PowerPoints for practical, hands-on learning that is proven to reduce musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
The short version
Body Safe is KINNECT’s practical, hands-on manual handling training program for blue-collar workforces. Instead of a PowerPoint, workers rotate through five interactive stations — statistics, lower backs, shoulders, hand safety and knees — guided by an Allied Health Professional who demonstrates safer techniques in real-world conditions. Sessions run 60–90 minutes for up to 20 workers, can be tailored to your site’s hazardous manual tasks, and are delivered nationally across Australia and New Zealand.
Manual handling training without a PowerPoint in sight.
Body Safe is a practical, relatable and interactive program designed to engage blue-collar workers and reduce the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) that quietly drive lost-time injuries. Workers don’t sit through slides — they move through hands-on stations, copy demonstrated techniques and walk away with skills they can actually use the next morning.
Content can be tailored to your site’s hazardous manual tasks, reinforced with workplace posters and even handed over to your own internal trainers — so the program keeps protecting workers long after the first session.
Why clients pick Body Safe
- No PowerPoints — workers learn by doing, not by watching slides
- Content tailored to your site’s hazardous manual tasks
- Five interactive stations covering the highest-risk body areas
- QR codes on every poster link to a digital quick-reference guide
- Delivered in layman’s terms by an Allied Health Professional
- Optional Train-the-Trainer so you can run it in-house long term
One trainer, five stations, real-world technique.
Participants rotate through each station with a printed poster, watch the technique demonstrated, then practise it themselves — with their own tools and equipment where it makes sense.
- 01
Statistics & the why
A short, sharp grounding in why MSDs matter — the personal cost to workers and the operational cost to the business.
- 02
Lower backs
Safer lifting, pushing and pulling patterns that take load off the lumbar spine during everyday tasks.
- 03
Shoulders
Reach, overhead work and load handling techniques that protect the rotator cuff and shoulder girdle.
- 04
Hand safety
Grip, pinch and tool-handling fundamentals that reduce strains, lacerations and overuse injuries.
- 05
Knees
Kneeling, squatting and step-up techniques that protect the knee through repeated bend-and-rise tasks.
From booking to certificates, the whole flow.
A simple, repeatable process — designed to fit around a real workplace and a real production schedule.
- 1
Pre-training scoping
KINNECT confirms date, time, location, participant numbers and whether the materials should be customised to your hazardous manual tasks. PPE, site inductions and reporting needs are confirmed up front.
- 2
Optional site visit
A consultant can attend your site beforehand to observe real tasks and capture detail for tailored posters — so the training reflects the work, not a generic template.
- 3
On-the-day delivery
An Allied Health Professional arrives 15 minutes early, sets up the five stations and runs a single 60–90 minute, hands-on session with up to 20 workers.
- 4
Reinforcement & reporting
Customised posters stay on site as visual reminders. If requested, KINNECT issues a summary report with recommendations and digital certificates of completion.
Built for one site or scaled across your whole workforce.
Run a single team session, customise it to your highest-risk tasks, or stand up your own internal trainers so every new starter gets the same program.

It’s one thing to hear ‘keep your back straight’ in a presentation — it’s another to physically practise it yourself while an experienced allied health professional guides you. When we ran the training with Downer, some people told me it was the best manual handling training they’d been to and we received an 87% satisfaction rate from their feedback forms.
The questions clients ask before they book.
Anything not covered here? Your KINNECT Account Manager will walk you through it.
How is Body Safe different from traditional manual handling training?
Traditional training relies on PowerPoint slides. Body Safe uses interactive stations, practical demonstrations and real-world tasks so workers actually feel the technique — which makes it stick.
What is a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD)?
MSDs are injuries to the muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves — things like sprains, strains, back injuries, soft-tissue injuries and overuse conditions such as carpal tunnel. They can happen suddenly from one bad lift, or build up over time from repeated load and poor technique.
How many people can attend a single session?
Up to 20 participants per session, so the trainer can keep things personal and hands-on. Larger workforces are split into multiple sessions.
What facilities do you need at our site?
A safe, clear space where participants can stand around two arm-lengths apart while practising. We also need clear wall space to hang the five station posters.
Can the training be customised to our work?
Yes. We can run a site visit to observe your hazardous manual tasks and produce posters tailored to that work, so the training reflects what your team actually does day to day.
Is this suitable for all industries?
Yes — Body Safe works across construction, manufacturing, logistics, mining, utilities, grounds and cleaning. The framework is consistent; the customisation makes it relevant.
How do I book or get a quote?
Call 1300 546 632 or request a quote and your dedicated KINNECT Account Manager will scope the session, confirm participant numbers and walk you through any optional add-ons.
