9 Annual ‘K-Day’ Award Winners Announced

People Stories 02 Dec 2022

Welcoming over 100 nominations for employees around Australia and beyond, the K-Day Awards celebrate our values and highlight the contribution KINNECTers have made to the business over the last 12 months.

Open to all departments, the awards recognise excellence among individuals, teams and in leadership within the business and coincide with KINNECT’s annual birthday celebration, known as ‘K-Day’.

And the 2022 K-Day winners are…

The Melbourne Team were awarded ‘Team of the Year’ for the second year running, capping off an excellent performance all around with their recent #1 ranking for Original Employer Services by Worksafe Victoria.

Emerging Leader Program graduate, Sara Czubek, our Projects Administrator received the Emerging Leader accolade, having received no fewer than four separate nominations. She was praised for her inquisitive nature, her in-depth knowledge of the business and her keen interest in Professional Development.

Fellow ELP graduate, Sarah Jefferies, AEP from Nundah was awarded the Consultant of the Year in Workplace Rehabilitation. In addition to achieving a 98% RTW rate for her files, she received 43 repeat referrals throughout the year.

Tamsin Hearne, AEP & OT and State Manager for WA, received the Inspiring Leader Award. Tamsin was nominated for her ‘huge positive influence on the team’, ‘helping to create a fun, encouraging and inclusive environment’ and ‘innovative ideas to improve service delivery in WA’.

Jacinta Smalley from the Sunshine Coast was named Occupational Health Consultant of the Year.

Jacinta Smalley an Occupational Health Nurse from the Sunshine Coast was recognised as the Consultant of the Year in Occupational Health. In addition to her highly skilled work as an OHN, she has stepped up to perform clinical governance work and acts as a go-to for KINNECT nurses and junior staff.

Karen Diokino was praised for her work too as a Support Services Superstar of the Year. Described by one of her nominees as a ‘ silent performer’, Karen  ‘always works hard, strives to achieve the most positive outcome for the client’ and ‘first to raise their hand to provide support embracing every challenge with a positive attitude and smile on her face.’

For our Specialised Services Superstar of the Year Award, Lelayna Beverley from the Gold Coast and Leader for the Customer Success Team was announced the winner. Laynie consistently ‘gives 100000% to any role or task she is navigating’, and highlighted for her commitment to providing the best customer experience.

Finally, Accredited Exercise Physiologist from the Gold Coast, Frazer Fairbrother, and Deanne Davis from Rockhampton were awarded joint Newcomer of the Year Awards. Frazer joined via KINNECT’s new graduate program and has excelled rapidly in his role due to his consistent and relentless commitment to improving himself, and his skills, and refining his WPR case management craft. While being only new herself, Deanne has impressed her colleagues with the way she has ‘stepped up and has taken initiative’, particularly with regard to on-boarding new team members.

KINNECT, Chief Executive, Kevin Conlon, said:

“Congratulations to our K-Day Awards Winners. I’ve seen your names appear many times over the last 12 months due to your regular appearance in our Weekly Core Values Awards.
