Workplace Rehabilitation Success Program
Your pathway to a fulfilling career in workplace rehabilitation.
At KINNECT, we don’t believe in dropping people in the deep end. We equip graduates and allied health practitioners new to workplace rehabilitation with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to excel from day one.
Our 12-month structured Workplace Rehabilitation Success Program, led by the Workplace Rehabilitation Careers Lead, enables you to develop vital skills and forge valuable professional relationships, laying the foundation for long-term success.
How it Works

Expert Supervision
-
Local Supervisors: Your dedicated Team Manager will help you progress towards a full-time workplace rehabilitation caseload and guide you through KINNECT’s processes and procedures.
-
Provisional Psychologist Supervision: Our partnership with the College of Professional Psychology (COPP) enables you to complete a 5+1 internship while working at KINNECT.

Professional Development
- Monthly Professional Development Sessions: You’ll explore key topics such as the health benefits of an early return to work, pain education, holding case conferences and case noting.
- Bi-Monthly Gatherings: Attend interactive online sessions facilitated by the Workplace Rehabilitation Careers Lead, where you can share challenges and learn from each other.

Mentorship
- Discipline-Specific Mentor: You’ll be paired with a mentor to provide guidance and support with regular 1:1 sessions.
- Shadowing Professionals: Gain valuable insights by observing and working alongside seasoned practitioners performing assessments, at employee onsite meetings, and case conference calls.
- One-on-One Check-In Sessions: You’ll engage in 1:1sessions with the Workplace Rehabilitation Careers Lead to discuss your progress, address challenges, and receive constructive feedback. These sessions are collaborative to ensure you’re adequately supported (and challenged!) and serve as an important platform for you to share your feedback and voice your needs

Peer Support
- Buddy System: You’ll be paired with a consultant from the current or previous cohort to help you navigate your first year.
- Internal Support Group: Connect with other peers in the cohort in the informal online Teams chat to share experiences and build relationships.

Health & Wellbeing
- Extensive Support System: Taking on your first role in the workplace or entering a new field can mean significant changes, both personally and professionally. The Workplace Rehabilitation Careers Lead, your Team Manager and your peers are here to guide you on how to build a career centred on emotional well-being and resilience.

Recognition & Celebration
- In-Person Program Celebration: We’ll celebrate your achievements towards the end of the program with an in-person event that brings the cohort together at a central location for a day of educational sessions and social activities.
- Annual K Day Awards: We recognise the achievements and impact our KINNECTers make with yearly awards, including a Best New Starter award.
