Occupational Physician Reporting Timeframes

After the assessment has been conducted, the Occupational Physician will allocate time to prepare their report. Please allow for the following reporting timeframes:

Fitness for Work Report: Up to 3 Business Days

Independent Medical Examination: Up to 10 Business Days

Please note that in some instances, additional medical information may be requested from the worker or a subsequent appointment may be required by the Occupational Physician, following requested medical information, imaging or pathology tests. In these instances, the final report may be delayed. 

What Happens Next?

After you submit this request, the following events will occur:

Step 1

KINNECT will send the worker an online health questionnaire. This questionnaire can be completed via either a smartphone, tablet or computer and should be completed within the next 48 hours. It is a requirement for this questionnaire to be completed and reviewed by the Occupational Physician, prior to the assessment. 

Step 2

KINNECT will send you (the employer) two consent documents that will need to be reviewed, signed by the worker and returned to KINNECT within 48 hours.

Step 3

KINNECT will confirm an appointment with the Occupational Physician and advise you and the worker of this appointment via an email. A meeting request will accompany the email which will include a link to access Microsoft Teams, the platform from which the telehealth appointment will occur. It is your responsibility to ensure that the worker has unhindered access to Microsoft Teams, an internet enabled device with speakers, microphone and webcam to participate in this appointment. Should technology issues occur at the time of the assessment, this time will be invoiced. 

Step 4

The assessment will occur on the agreed date and time.

Step 5

The Occupational Physician will prepare their report, which will then be emailed to yourself once available.
