KINNECT is the preferred provider for Queensland Ambulance Service. We deliver clinical placement, graduate and qualified paramedic medicals, assessed by KINNECT clinicians, reviewed by KINNECT Doctors against QAS Medical Standards and booked through our Carelever portal.
Before requesting a QAS Clinical Placement, Graduate or Qualified Paramedic Medical, complete your immunisation compliance in Carelever Comply and download one full compliance certificate covering every required immunisation. Then submit the location and payment form. Allow up to 3 hours for the appointment; results are normally emailed within two business days when no further testing or information is needed.
QAS partners with KINNECT as the preferred provider for clinical placement, graduate and qualified paramedic medical assessments. Every assessment is examined by a KINNECT clinician and reviewed by a KINNECT Doctor against the QAS Medical Standards, so the fitness outcome is consistent, defensible and ready when QAS need it.
University students completing a clinical placement with QAS as part of their paramedicine degree.
Paramedicine graduates who have completed their studies and are commencing employment with QAS.
Qualified paramedics returning to operational duty with QAS, including re-entry after extended leave.
Complete these five stages in order. Do not submit the form until every required immunisation is compliant and you have downloaded your full combined compliance certificate.
Register with Carelever Comply, pay the $53.90 verification fee and upload your evidence. Wait until every required immunisation is compliant, then use “Download Record” to create one full compliance certificate.

A KINNECT Doctor assesses your results against QAS Medical Standards. Results are emailed within two business days when no further testing or information is required.
Carelever Comply charges a $53.90 verification fee. Each immunisation is checked separately. You can only continue once all required types are marked compliant and you have generated one full certificate listing them together.
Use the Download Record button after every required immunisation is compliant. If you submit an individual, incomplete or incorrect certificate, your referral will be cancelled, your payment refunded and you will need to submit a new referral.
Serology is mandatory. Provide an accepted completed, non-accelerated vaccination course with anti-HBs serology, evidence of past infection, or the documented persistent non-responder evidence described in the full requirements.
Provide formal evidence of one adult dTpa dose within the previous 10 years. ADT is not accepted. Serology may be used but is not mandatory.
Provide two MMR doses at least one month apart, positive IgG for all three diseases, or evidence that you were born before 1966.

Stage 2 of your QAS journey
The validity of your medical depends on the QAS pathway you’re on. Here’s how each pathway works, and when a supplementary medical kicks in.
| Status | Background | Medical Assessment Validity | Is a Supplementary Medical Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clinical Placement Student (Undergraduate) | A paramedicine student requiring a medical for QAS clinical placement. | Valid for the duration of studies. | Only required if there is a change to health status while still a student, or if absent from studies for more than 12 months (regardless of change to health status). |
| Graduate Paramedic | An individual who has completed paramedicine studies and now seeks employment with QAS. | Valid for 2 years. | If a QAS Clinical Placement Medical (as an undergraduate) was completed and graduation occurred less than two years ago, that medical remains valid, a supplementary medical is required before commencing as a Graduate Paramedic. |
| Qualified Paramedic | A qualified paramedic returning to operational duty with QAS. | Valid for 2 years. | A supplementary medical is required if your health status changes within the validity period, or if you have been away from operational duty for an extended time. |
A paramedicine student requiring a medical for QAS clinical placement.
An individual who has completed paramedicine studies and now seeks employment with QAS.
A qualified paramedic returning to operational duty with QAS.
Every QAS paramedic medical is reviewed by a KINNECT Doctor against the QAS Medical Standards, not a general fitness check.
That means a consistent, defensible determination of fitness for the operational role you’re stepping into, clinical placement, graduate paramedic or qualified paramedic.
If a medical condition is identified during the assessment that requires further investigation or information from your treating doctor, KINNECT will contact you and provide a referral letter to take to your treating doctor.
Your assessment is finalised by the KINNECT Doctor once the requested information is returned — keeping the QAS pathway moving without unnecessary delays.
