Queensland Ambulance Service Clinical Placement Medical Assessment

KINNECT is the preferred Medical Provider for Queensland Ambulance Service Clinical Placement & Graduate Paramedic Program.

University students who are completing a clinical placement with Queensland Ambulance Service and/or Graduate Paramedics are required to undertake a Medical Assessment through KINNECT.

There are several important steps to follow to book your Medical Assessment with KINNECT.

You must complete each step in numerical order (e.g. Step 1 and then Step 2).

Please note that you must provide all requested information at each step for your medical assessment to be completed.

Step 1 – Provide Your Immunisation History

Step 2 – Book & Pay for Your Assessment

Step 3 – Appointment Confirmation

Step 4 – Attend Your Appointment

Step 5 – Medical Results

STEP 1

Provide your Immunisation History

Before you can commence your medical assessment with KINNECT, we need to know that you have previously had the following immunisations:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Whooping Cough (Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella
  • Tuberculosis* (only required in certain instances)

*For more information, please download the QAS Immunisation Guidance Document.

Upload Your Immunisation Evidence to Carelever Comply

To do this, you will need to access Carelever Comply, an online portal where you can record and upload evidence for each of the immunisations stated above.

A $53.90 verification fee will be payable when you register for a Carelever Comply account.

Please thoroughly read the Student Guide to Carelever Comply before uploading your immunisation history.

Important Information About Compliance Certificates

A KINNECT Clinician will review each immunisation type separately.

You will receive an email to advise you when the immunisation has been verified.

One compliance certificate is issued per immunisation type.

To proceed to Step 2:

  • All immunisation types must be marked as compliant

You cannot move forward until every immunisation you require has been individually verified.

  • Once all immunisations are compliant, you must generate a SINGLE full compliance certificate using the ‘Download Record’ button.

This final certificate—available in Carelever Comply—lists all vaccination types together.

This is the only certificate that should be uploaded to the form in Step 2.

What Happens If You Upload Incorrect or Incomplete Certificates?

If you submit a referral without the full combined compliance certificate:

  • Your referral will be cancelled
  • Your payment will be refunded
  • You will need to submit a new referral once the correct certificate is available

Do not proceed to Step 2 until Step 1 has been fully completed, including downloading and saving your complete compliance certificate.

STEP 2

Appointment Location & Payment

Please complete the form below to select your location and make payment for your medical.

The cost of your medical assessment is determined by the location where the assessment is to be conducted.

STEP 3

Appointment Confirmation

Once we receive your payment, your referral will be created, and you’ll receive an SMS and email from Carelever with a link prompting you to self-book your appointments or provide your availability.

If you are attending a KINNECT clinic, you can self-book your appointment using the link provided.

If you choose an Affiliate clinic, simply select your preferred location using the same link and provide availability options. Our bookings team will make the booking on your behalf.

You’ll receive your confirmed appointment details via SMS and email. We will also advise you on what to bring and wear for your assessment, along with other relevant details. It is important that you review this information and understand these requirements before your appointment.

STEP 4

Attend Your Appointment

Please arrive on time to your confirmed appointment and allow up to 3 hours to complete your medical and physical assessment.  Please wear closed-in shoes – trainers are ideal – to your appointment.

What to expect on the day:

  • Review of your medical history
  • Review of occupational exposure history

STEP 5

Medical Results

Your results will be assessed by a KINNECT Doctor according to QAS Medical Standards.

These results will be sent to you via email within two (2) business days of your appointment, as long as no further testing or additional information is required.

ℹ️ Please ensure you check your inbox and spam folder for your results

Further Medical Information

If, during the medical assessment process, a medical condition is identified that requires further medical investigation and/or information from a treating doctor, KINNECT will contact you and provide a referral letter to take to your treating doctor.

Once information is received from your treating doctor, KINNECT’s doctor will review it and make the Fitness for Work Determination.

A fee ($184 + GST) will be charged to cover the cost of the referral letter and the review of the additional information by the KINNECT Doctor.

To avoid a further medical review being required, KINNECT encourage you to bring supporting documentation to your appointment should you have a medical / health condition and/or current injury. Supporting documentation may include:

  • Letter from your treating Doctor / Medical Specialist
  • Pathology and/or Radiology Results

Please note that KINNECT will not provide advice or guidance as to what medical information you or your treating doctor should provide.  We encourage you to refer to the Queensland Ambulance Service Medical Standards or discuss with the University.
