KINNECT is the preferred Medical Provider for Queensland Ambulance Service Clinical Placement & Graduate Paramedic Program.
University students who are completing a clinical placement with Queensland Ambulance Service and/or Graduate Paramedics are required to undertake a Medical Assessment through KINNECT.
There are several important steps to follow to book your Medical Assessment with KINNECT.
You must complete each step in numerical order (e.g. Step 1 and then Step 2).
Please note that you must provide all requested information at each step for your medical assessment to be completed.
Step 1 – Provide Your Immunisation History
Step 2 – Book & Pay for Your Assessment
Step 3 – Appointment Confirmation
STEP 1
Provide your Immunisation History
Before you can commence your medical assessment with KINNECT, we need to know that you have previously had the following immunisations:

- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Tuberculosis (only required in certain instances)
*For more information, please download the QAS Immunisation Guidance Document.
To do this, you will need to access Carelever Comply.
This is an online portal where you can record your immunisation history and upload evidence (e.g. including immunisation documentation/records).
You will then be asked to pay a $53.90 verification fee.
Please thoroughly read the Student Guide to Carelever Comply before uploading your immunisation history.
Upload your Immunisation History*
A KINNECT Clinician will verify your information, and if compliant, you will be sent an email confirmation in which you will be able to download your compliance certificate.
Please note: If you cannot provide the above information, you will not be able to proceed with the Clinical Placement Medical. KINNECT can assist with organising serology and vaccinations at an additional cost.
Do not proceed to Step 2 without having completed Step 1 in full. Please ensure you have downloaded and saved a copy of the verification certificate.
STEP 2

Although you will have booked a 1-hour timeslot, please allow up to 3 hours to complete your scheduled appointment.
Failure to attend your scheduled appointment or cancellation within 24 hours will result in fees being incurred.

STEP 5
Medical Results
The immunisation information you provided, together with the results of your medical, will be assessed by a KINNECT Doctor according to QAS Medical Standards. Your assessment result will be sent to both QAS stakeholders and yourself via email within 2 business days of your assessment.
Further Medical Information
If, during the medical assessment process, a medical condition is identified that requires further medical investigation and/or information from a treating doctor, KINNECT will contact you and provide a referral letter to take to your treating doctor.
Once information is received from your treating doctor, KINNECT’s doctor will review it and make the Fitness for Work Determination.
A fee ($184 + GST) will be charged to cover the cost of the referral letter and the review of the additional information by the KINNECT Doctor.
To avoid a further medical review being required, KINNECT encourage you to bring supporting documentation to your appointment should you have a medical / health condition and/or current injury. Supporting documentation may include:
- Letter from your treating Doctor / Medical Specialist
- Pathology and/or Radiology Results
Please note that KINNECT will not provide advice or guidance as to what medical information you or your treating doctor should provide. We encourage you to refer to the Queensland Ambulance Service Medical Guidelines or discuss with the University.
