KINNECT Named 17th Best Place to Work in Australia

Occupational Health service provider KINNECT was last night named as number 17 in the 2017 Australian Best Places to Work awards.

The awards, held by Great Place to Work, are widely acclaimed in Australia and are based on one of the world’s most comprehensive studies of workplace culture.

KINNECT Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Conlon said the organisation is incredibly humbled to be receiving such esteemed recognition again.

“We really pride ourselves on creating a great place for our people to work and know that engaged, inspired and happy staff drive business success.”

“This recognition propels our motivation to continually find new ways to create a working environment that encourages our people to achieve our mission of making people at work healthy, safe and productive. This ultimately drives performance and sustainable results for our clients,” said Mr Conlon.

KINNECT has dozens of methods to build and maintain positive workplace culture such as an annual all-expenses-paid group holiday for employees, transparent pay scales , frequency of performance reviews dictated by staff, performance based financial incentives, and uncapped professional development… The list goes on.

  • Multiple internal employee networking channels
  • Regular staff appreciation and cultural events
  • A day off to celebrate birthdays with loved ones
  • “Give a day to charity”

  • and more.

“As an Occupational Health provider, it’s our inherent belief that individuals who choose to work in the health industry are those that genuinely care for the well-being of others, and are driven by the need to help, care and empower those in need,” said Mr Conlon.

“Interestingly, what we are seeing more and more of is that our team don’t just want “perks”. It’s about more than giving a car parking space or a bonus. Of course, those things are nice to have, but it’s about creating meaningful engagement, opportunities for personal and professional growth and really trying to make their work an enjoyable experience each and every day. It is our belief that you spend too much time at work, to not be happy.”

Great Place to Work Australia’s Managing Director Zrinka Lovrencic echoed Mr Conlon’s thoughts and said with a services sector heavy economy, employers now need to make a greater effort to improve their workplace cultures in order to retain employees.

“This competitive pressure benefits everyone, as all workplaces can increase their levels of employee engagement. The companies that have made the 2017 study have risen to this challenge and exemplify workplace culture excellence,” said Ms Lovrencic.

As a national Occupational Health provider, KINNECT has 13 offices throughout Australia, and a network of more than 250 affiliated allied health and medical clinics.
