KINNECT offers prac placements for your university's Workplace Rehabilitation Consultants students to explore a career in workplace rehabilitation and occupational health, in any year of their degree.
Real occupational health and rehabilitation experience.
Designed for students who want to learn how a national occupational health business actually operates, across prevention, health surveillance, injury management and return to work, our placements are practical and build real-world skills. We work directly with your university so the placement meets your documentation, supervision and reporting requirements, and we're upfront about what we can and can't accommodate in any given quarter.

Students are supervised by an experienced clinician in the same discipline.

Work alongside Physiotherapists, Psychologists, OTs, AEPs, Nurses and Rehab Counsellors.

What students do during their placement
Students are partnered with an experienced workplace rehabilitation consultant to review and participate in onsite workplace assessments, medical case conferences, pre-employment screening, activities of daily living (ADL) assessments for OT students, and vocational assessments and counselling for rehabilitation counselling students.

Most KINNECT locations offer student placements, metro offices in QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, SA and NT plus regional locations, subject to supervisor capacity in any given quarter. If your students wish to relocate to complete their placement, we can help them settle in locally with advice on short-term accommodation and transportation. The earlier we talk, the more locations we can confirm.
Meet our CEO: Dave Hughes
Dave first joined KINNECT for a prac placement while studying at QUT. Founder Kevin Conlon offered him a job on graduation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and Dave went on to lead operations across the country before stepping into the CEO role in July 2024. Knowing first-hand how instrumental a good placement can be, Dave is intent on making KINNECT's an exceptional experience.
