A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41415) is the recognised qualification for a career in the management of health and safety in Australia. The KINNECT Training Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety means firstly completing the initial core units of the qualification giving you knowledge and understanding in workplace health and safety legislation, management systems, safety consultation and participation, hazard ID and risk controls.

Focus on the Health and Safety Specialist stream and you will gain further important understanding on identifying risk, implementing and monitoring workplace health and safety policies and procedures, emergency response systems and then be able to effectively communicate the safety message.

Focus on the Safety, Rehabilitation and Return to Work stream and you’ll develop a working knowledge of rehabilitation and return to work processes, understand the legislative framework of workers’ compensation in your state, design effective suitable duties programs and know how to apply all of this to the timely and efficient management of injured workers.

For Queensland employees, successful completion of this course will mean you meet the requirements under the Queensland Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 to act as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.

The Certificate IV in work Health and Safety course can be completed either online or face to face, whatever suits your situation and your learning style best. The course has been designed so that if you commence the online course and find it’s not what you’re looking, just transition across to the face to face course and pick up where you left off.

Online

Using our online learning platform, you can become a Health and Safety Practitioner at your own pace. The course features a combination of videos, audio and readings, all designed to enhance the learning experience for every student. As the course is self paced, you will be able to log in and continue on from where you left off.

Throughout the course you will be guided by experienced Trainers that will provide timely feedback and advice for course completion. Throughout the program you will be invited and encouraged to participate in webinars and forums to keep you motivated and heading in the right direction.

Safety and Health Specialist

This course is suited to those people wanting to become a Health and Safety Practitioner in the workplace and help workplaces best manage safety. The core units of BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety are completed and then the focus is on identifying risk and them implementing, monitoring and communicating controls in the workplace.

Safety, Rehabilitation and Return to Work Management

The completion of this course is designed for those working in the health and safety industry and also helping people return to work following an injury. Again the core units of BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety are completed but the electives provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage rehabilitation and return to work claims and design effective suitable duties programs.

For Queensland workers, the successful completion of this program is also designed to meet the requirements under the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act to perform the role of a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.

BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and SafetyNRT Logo

Successful completion of this program will result in the awarding of the nationally accredited unit of competency BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. KINNECT works in conjunction with Trainwest (RTO#51807) to assess this course and the Statement of Attainment will be issued by Trainwest.

  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation
  • BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes (group 2)
  • BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements

Safety, Rehabilitation and Return to Work Management

Core Units:

  • BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
  • BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
  • BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control

For Queensland workers’ KINNECT will issue a Statement of Completion for attending the course “Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator”.
